About Disaster DB

Disclaimer

Disaster DB provides wildfire, smoke, and related environmental data for informational and situational awareness only. Conditions change quickly; layers can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Do not use Disaster DB as a substitute for official evacuation orders, emergency alerts, or air-quality guidance. Always verify with local authorities and official agencies. What Disaster DB is

Disaster DB is a global wildfire tracking platform built on an entirely self-hosted map stack. It is powered by FireDB, which enhances NASA FIRMS satellite detections with authoritative agency fire points (USA / Canada / Europe / Australia), plus GeoColor (GOES-East/West, Meteosat, GK2A), North America smoke, GFS wind, burned areas, GDACS, satellite tracks, and Google DeepMind hurricane tracks. Browse incidents on disasterdb.com/firedb.

The basemap is served from our own infrastructure: Protomaps vector tiles on Cloudflare R2, NASA Blue Marble imagery, and self-hosted Lexend map fonts. No third-party map provider sits between you and the data.
